AUSTRALIA
Outback Explorer
Duration
12 days, 11 nights
Australia is a really immense country, and getting to know it all would require months, but this epic 12 day trip will give you a good idea of what Australia’s popular eastern territory is like, by hitting all the highlights, from the beach to koalas in an animal hospital, to the Great Barrier Reef.
Start this once in a lifetime journey with a food tour of Melbourne, led by a local author and culinary storyteller. Then head to Uluru, in the heart of the Australian outback. Visit the Cultural Centre of the Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage site—and learn about the beliefs and customs of the Anangu, the area’s traditional Indigenous owners. End the day with a glass of sparkling wine as you witness a crimson sunset over this fabled monolith. Wake up to witness the sunrise over Uluru and to gaze at the famous Field of Light installation.
Continue with your journey to Sydney, where you will, among other activities, take a private tour of the Sydney Opera House. Then, take a catamaran for a Sydney sunset sail. Head to Cairns and drive along the Daintree Rainforest, and learn from the indigenous aboriginal guide about the traditional ways of life. Embark on an interpretive walk at the lush Mossman Gorge, learning about the traditional ways of life of the region’s Kuku Yalanji people.
Continue to the resort town of Port Douglas, our home for the next three nights, where you will snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef and treasure memories of Down Under as long as you live.
